Jerry Fels and two other partners started the Renoir company in Hollywood, California in 1946. Originally called “Renoir of Hollywood” the name changed in 1948 to “Renoir of California.” Renoir's pieces take inspiration from the Arts and Crafts era, when copper was a favorite of artisans producing hollow hammered pieces. Renoir is known for his copper bracelets and bracelets. The company made jewelry with abstract art designs that leaned toward modern art. Playing with geometry was a favorite occupation of Renoir's designers. Renoir closed in 1964.
